The "Core Concepts" series focuses on the clinical aspects of the basic sciences, covering what is important on the conceptual level in a "what really is important" and "all you need to know" manner. Series content prepares students for exams, the boards and medical practice and coverage includes up-to-date techniques of molecular biology and how they are used in medical diagnosis and treatment. This text is divided into three sections: the first outlines the major concepts in DNA structure and replication; the second covers RNA structure and synthesis and processing; and the third provides information on protein structure and synthesis.
